The challenge
AI can generate pictures, stories, answers, and ideas in seconds. That creates an important question: will children learn to direct technology creatively, or depend on it to do their thinking? When AI produces polished results instantly, children may begin to doubt the value of their own ideas.

Future Designers is not a coding course or a collection of prompts. Children learn to use AI during creative projects while remaining the authors of their ideas. They explore when AI can help, when it can mislead, and when they should put it aside and think for themselves.

Through hands-on design and maker projects, children develop creative confidence, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, AI literacy, collaboration, and self-efficacy. They learn that AI can support creativity, but should never replace curiosity, imagination, judgment, or human values.

The Bootcamp follows a flipped-classroom model: prepare with short readings and videos, try new ideas with your pupils, then join a live session to share what worked and receive your next input. Peer learning is central — you grow alongside teachers from across Europe.

No. The Bootcamp starts with the fundamentals and focuses on practical teaching, not technical expertise.
No. You will work with accessible AI tools, teaching methods, and ready-to-use activities. No coding is required.
The Bootcamp consists of three online sessions: 26 November, 3 and 10 December 2026, each from 4 to 5 PM CET. Between sessions, you will also explore hands-on activities with your pupils — roughly one hour per week.
The lesson plans are designed to fit into creative, design, STEM, STEAM, and maker projects you already run. You can use them directly or adapt them to your curriculum.
The resources include plugged, low-device, and fully unplugged activities. Many lessons can be run with a shared screen, a teacher-controlled device, or paper-based materials.
The Bootcamp focuses on teacher-guided, age-appropriate AI literacy. Children explore bias, misinformation, privacy, human oversight, and when not to use AI.
Yes. The Future Designers Teacher Bootcamp and its learning materials are provided through the Erasmus+ project at no cost to participating educators.
No. Places are limited, and applications will be reviewed to create a relevant group of participating educators. Applicants will receive clear information about selection and next steps.
